ABOUT

Fasciation Planting & Care designs inviting outdoor spaces. Our work focuses on what we consider to be the most significant element of garden design: plants. More than visually pleasing, they’re vital to our daily well-being. Our services are priced so more homeowners, small business owners, and renters can take advantage of this.

Our Services

  • Consultations & virtual sessions

Ask us anything about your outdoor space during a one-hour visit or video call, get show-and-tell advice, and feel more confident by the end because you know what to do next.
    —$90

  • Plant design

If you feel off in your outdoor space — it’s too empty, it’s awkward, it’s not you — we’ll shape it to be a more welcoming place for you and the life around you. First, we get to know your site conditions. Then, we set the mood, narrow down the plant list, and send you a final design: the blueprint that brings it to life.
    —$95 / hr

  • Plant selection & delivery

Your outdoor space needs … something. Have us fill in the blanks with plants selected to fit your aesthetics and conditions. We source what’s in season according to your needs and likes, then deliver them and set them in place, ready for planting.
    —$190

  • Tree & shrub pruning

Proper pruning makes all the difference for the look and longevity of trees and shrubs. During seasonal, or biannual visits, we’ll use the same techniques as certified arborists to remove bulk and overgrowth from plants 12 feet and under.
    —$95 / hr

  • Edible garden establishment

Growing your own food is easier and cheaper than you think, especially when experienced growers show you how. We help with site placement and crop selection — greens, veggies, teas, fruit, and herbs — then we plant your patch together so you know it’s off to a good start.
    —$190 per raised bed

  • Outdoor party prep

Hosting an event in your outdoor space? We get it guest-ready — pruning, deadheading, weeding, tidying — so you can focus on preparing the rest.
    —$60 / hr

MEET THE DESIGNER

fah—see—AYE—shun

The term for an abnormality in plants that enlarges tissue into a flat, fused, ribbon-like shape. It creates stand outs, rarities, little freaks of nature.

Kate is the owner of Fasciation Planting & Care. She’s a garden designer, horticulturally trained gardener, and holds a certificate in arboriculture from Portland Community College.

Her plant design process begins with Beth Chatto’s right plant, right place concept, then explores what will make your outdoor space the most inviting to you and the life outside. She selects plants that naturally draw you out there to unwind, recharge, and get inspired.
